The city of Al Ain is an inland oasis city and it is also called “Garden City” for its palm groves and natural springs. The historic oasis sprawls across 3,000-acres and provides a unique insight into the region’s inhabitants who began taming the desert 4,000 years ago. The Al Ain Oasis has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2011. The Landscape plays an important role within the project. It anchors the building to the urban context, offering a gathering space for visitors and employees. The project tries to interpret within the architectural language of these natural elements.
For providing comprehensive consultancy services, BEAD Architects & Engineers has joined forces with Consolidated Consultant Group (CCG) who will provide the engineering design for this prestigious project.

New extension to the existing Etihad Headquarters is formed by a fluid motion of various spaces which are subjected to different "forces" of the program and strategically located transit points (bus station, L.R.T station). The central spine between the masses becomes a hub for public circulation. The main mass is also connected by a two storey bridge above the existing highway, where are located meeting rooms, lounges and outdoor sitting areas.

The architecture is developed as an interplay between strength and transparency, the tension between patterned elements, internal spaces and the geometrically more simple volumes.
The intriguing opening in the ceiling at the center of the building gives views into the floors of the building above to approaching visitors and creates welcoming feel.
The dynamic pattern wraps the form at all levels of scale in a single gesture, following the morphological evolution of the overall form, but designed in response to the excessive heat imbibing traditional elements and offering protection from the region’s hot climate by reducing the heat gain and rendering the building energy efficient.
