Muhannad Assam believes that one never stops being a student, inspiration is everywhere, and one must keep learning and exploring. This zest for his profession and life in general has given him several major successes and provides him with a fulfilling life.

Founder and Managing Director of BEAD; Muhannad has over 36 years experience in architectural design through his work with different private practices in Iraq and in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Here he has worked in different offices such as Design Director for Pear Gulf Consultants, Principal Designer for Dar El-Emara Consultants and with his longest duration in DEWAN Architects & Engineers. In this firm he spent 18 years as Design Director and later as Regional Director and Director of Design. During these terms he penned some of the most well-known structures that shape Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and the region as a whole, which contributed immensely to the quality and style of life in the Middle East region.

Muhannad is an effective designer, active coordinator and facilitator of excellent performance and has extensive experience in a multidisciplinary context. In addition to being a recognized designer, his multiple expertises include Corporate Management, Research and Development, and roles in Real Estate Advice and Code Consultancy. Never ceasing to grow, Muhannad decided to venture out from DEWAN and start his own design firm, BEAD Architects & Engineers.

For Muhannad the most rewarding thing about his career has been watching his buildings over the years and how people react to the environments he has created. He experiences immense satisfaction when his creation provides an inspirational environment for someone else.
