This research focuses on analysis and understanding of traditional vernacular architecture of mosques in UAE, while understanding and interpretation of its position within contemporary urban setting. It formed part of the Jamee Mosque project which you can see HERE.
The general outline of the activities include market research in consultation with Tobia Architects Medical Planners, meetings with PriceWaterhouseCoopers (PWC) - advisory, auditing and strategy consultants, studies and compilation of code and regulations requirements via meetings with governmental bodies in Doha (MMUP and SCH), site visits and evaluation studies. We have conducted extensive research on this programme writing task and the Employer’s particular requirements, including research of similar existing facilities in the region and beyond in order to arrive at a model program for development. The program is written for the location in coordination and guidance of the Employer`s representatives and has been proposed to tailor to the requirements of the project.
